A 63-year journey with over 1,600 concerts in Italy and Europe , the organization of festivals, exhibitions, workshops and participation in special evenings. Over six decades of commitment and passion with a single goal: to spread the culture of choral music following the teaching of the founder, Maestro Don Antonio Sanna .

The Turritano Polyphonic Choir celebrates sixty-three years of activity on the occasion of the feast of Santa Cecilia . The appointment with the concert of the ensemble directed by Laura Lambroni is set for Friday 18 November , at 8.30 pm, in Porto Torres , in the Romanesque Basilica of San Gavino .

The event is part of the national festival of sacred music Voci per Santa Cecilia , a choral network project promoted by Feniarco, the Italian national federation of regional choral associations, an organization which also includes the Turritano Polyphonic Choir.

The complete calendar of appointments, forty-nine throughout Italy, including four in Sardinia, can be downloaded from the Feniarco website. The concert scheduled in Porto Torres is entitled "Sentieri Corali" and is included in the second edition of the "Rassegna Turritana".

The "choral paths" will take the public on a small journey, transversal with respect to times and musical genres, and articulated through three themes dear to the choir: sacred love, profane love, love for tradition .

"Also this year we have the pleasure of celebrating our birthday during the anniversary of Santa Cecilia, patroness of music, and we do so within a national initiative of Feniarco which certainly gives greater value to the event", underlines the president of the Turritano Polyphonic Choir association, Maria Maddalena Simile . «We are ready to face a new season made up of concerts, training experiences, sharings which have always been the basis of our activity which began 63 years ago - continues the president Simile - and which continues under the sign of our unforgettable first director, don Antonio Sanna, a master not only of music but also of life».

The concert is organized with the collaboration of the parish priest of the Basilica of San Gavino , Monsignor Salvatore Masia .
