The mobilization of the workers of the Canale port of Cagliari starts again with a garrison in front of the headquarters of the Port Authority at the customs quay.

The initiative, organized by Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl and Uil Trasporti, aims to draw attention to the dispute precisely in the days when in Rome it will be decided whether to give the green light to the establishment of the Agency for port workers . A crucial week, therefore, since that instrument could represent a breath of fresh air for the dockers in Naspi for 14 months now, waiting for a new terminal operator and, finally, for an effective restart of the Cagliari industrial port.

"We think this is the decisive step to secure the professionalism and income of the workers of the industrial port of Cagliari because we ask for equal treatment in reference to the other ports", the words of William Zonca of Uiltrasporti. The objective is that "we arrive at a legislative text to be included in the budget law because we cannot afford any bureaucratic or political obstacles that undermine the definition and creation of the Cagliari port workers' agency ".

The trade unions also do not exclude other forms of mobilization, not only in Sardinia, but also in Rome, at the Ministry of Transport. "We strongly believe that all Sardinian institutions and political representations must take sides with the workers on this legitimate request", concluded Zonca.
