Sardinia Region at work to approve the Plan of the tourist port network by March 2023. Today in Cagliari the councilor for public works Aldo Salaris dictated the time schedule on the occasion of the first territorial meeting on the coastal stretch of Southern Sardinia.
The Plan, in addition to enhancing the centrality of the island 's position in the Mediterranean, aims to better distribute berths along the more than 1,800 kilometers of coastline to prevent smaller ports from being cut off from the navigation circuit.
Another objective is to increase the supply of ports of refuge necessary in the event of adverse weather conditions.
The plan is currently in the strategic environmental assessment phase: the next meetings are scheduled for 24 May in Porto Torres, 1 June in Arzachena, 8 in San Teodoro.
"Today we are starting a discussion on a planning tool that we believe is necessary to create the foundations of a new development system: the strengthening of the Sardinian port network represents an opportunity not only for the pleasure tourism sector, but for the entire island. ”Said Salaris.
