Originally from Oristano, he put down roots in Carbonia thanks to football and fate wanted to joke about it: on Saturday Andrea Porcheddu can bring great joy to the team he captains by giving them salvation and at the same time causing great pain to the club of his city, the Tharros. There is no escape: the playout final does not provide alternatives. One club remains in Excellence, the other is relegated. And the Miners, after an extraordinary comeback (they were also last in the standings), start from 3-0 in the first leg. The easy-to-mark 24-year-old midfielder himself contributed to this: so far there are 9, including last Sunday's.

«I would be sorry», he says, «I have affection for Tharros. But I have more for Carbonia."

A season will be decided on Saturday: feelings? «The result of the first leg is very good, but Tharros has scored more points than us in the championship and has excellent players capable of scoring two or three goals even in a single half: it will be very difficult. We are not calm but confident."

She saves herself, her city's team is relegated. «Certainly there is disappointment. My father played as a midfielder there, I have affection for Tharros. But I have an even greater affection for Carbonia: it's my third year here, I'm almost an acquired citizen."

He plays in midfield but scores a lot: is this his role? «I have always been a midfielder. In Cagliari mostly the midfielder. In Serie C, coach Giorico, who I thank again, made me play as a director: it helped me improve. My luck was finding Mr. Mingioni, who makes me play as an attacking midfielder: I manage to finish the action and find the way to the goal."

Where would you like to go? «The dream, in addition to salvation this year, would be to bring Carbonia back to Serie D in the short term. The city deserves a category higher than Excellence, it has one of the clubs with the best history."

What is football for you? «It arouses strong emotions in me. It makes me feel alive. I am very attached to my father: I remember that as a child he told me about when he played and about his goals."

If Carbonia is saved, will she stay? «It would be nice and easy to say that there are no doubts. Unfortunately, Carbonia is a reality that experiences economic difficulties every year. We will see".

What if he goes back? «It would be a hard blow. But I'm confident."
