Still regarding his relationship with Nicola , Pisacane spoke about the misadventure he had to face when he was very young: «I was 24 years old and I was approached to sell a match, which I naturally refused. Davide Nicola helped me to go and report it. It was all easier because he was there, a person with values. This is also why I now try to be a point of reference for my boys». When asked if this would happen to one of his boys, the coach of the islanders replied that he would be afraid of seeing a career ruined, but he is convinced that they would still be strong enough to ask for help immediately.

The choice to switch from player to coach came especially after the third knee injury, but he doesn't miss the green rectangle he experienced as a footballer too much: «I don't miss the pitch, in recent years I've had various knee problems. When I stopped it was a liberation. I don't deny that I received several offers from various Lega Pro clubs to return to playing, first of all Cesena . But when Cagliari approached me, who knew I wanted to coach, I had no choice but to accept. In any case, I'm happy with what I've done in my career as a player. The boots I hung up are at home among the memorabilia of my football career and every now and then my children want to see them, like all the other things I've collected in my years on the pitch». But now that Fabio Pisacane is wearing the clothes of the technical guide, who does he look up to? «When I started being a coach, I decided not to be tied to a system but to what the boys do. I coach them, not me. If someone perseveres, despite the results, then they win. My game comes from all the coaches I have had and those I appreciate. This mix creates my style. I also took a course to understand what young people today need: I am from the Y generation and they are from the Z, a technological generation, which has a highly sought-after visual ability. The training methodology is based on keeping attention high, with many stimuli and rewards. Before being coaches, we must be educators".

The past as a player for Cagliari saw the rossoblù coach collect 152 appearances. Sacrifice and commitment were never lacking, as admitted by Pisacane himself: «I made a few mistakes in the game but I always gave my all to honor the shirt. I always went to bed with a clear conscience».

But from the experiences lived at the sports center, Pisacane has not only learned from the other coaches of the Under. One of the main mentors was Claudio Ranieri : « Ranieri always said that the tactical coach is the last thing, the first is the relationship with the players. I spoke to him several times and I learned a lot from him. Every day I continue to learn from everything. I believe a lot in human relationships, I think that players can push themselves beyond the obstacle if on the other side they see that you are a real person».

And just as we were talking about the players, a small point was made about some individuals, in particular Franke, Balde and Cogoni : « Balde is a player who when he arrived you could see his physical potential but nothing else. He had to work on his technique and discipline. Now he is taking the stage. Franke ? The opposite of Balde , he is a very shy boy but he applies himself a lot. I decided to reward him by placing him in the starting lineup. When I have to relate to them, I have completely different ways. Then there is Cogoni who yes, can be defined as a mini Pisacane . He was recently called up to the first team and with the Italy U19 . He doesn't catch the eye but when needed he is there».

In closing, we couldn't help but open a parenthesis on the current season. The season of his Primavera started a bit uphill, but despite the difficulties faced, his boys have begun to reap the rewards of their hard work: «We got 3 points in the first five games but we remained positive. We had still played some great games, that's why I was calm. After Empoli we turned the situation around. We continued to put in good performances with different results and now we have to stay humble and work. I have a group with an immense spirit of sacrifice».
