Pinter's "Betrayals" on tour on the Island

A journey back in time, from the end of a love story to its beginning, with " Betrayal " by Harold Pinter , on the bill today at 9pm at the Teatro Civico in Alghero , tomorrow at 9pm at the Cine/Teatro "Olbia" and Wednesday 1 February at 21 at the Tamuli Pavilion of the former Mura di Macomer barracks as part of the 2022-2023 Season of La Grande Prosa organized by the CeDAC / Multidisciplinary Circuit of Live Performance in Sardinia chaired by Antonio Cabiddu.
In the mise en scène, signed by Michele Sinisi, also protagonist in the role of Robert, the husband, alongside Stefania Medri, who plays Emma and Stefano Braschi, in the role of Jerry, who has fallen in love with his friend's wife, describes the various phases of a relationship, in a series of flashbacks, from the last meeting between the former lovers to Jerry's fiery declaration to Emma, during a party, which gives the "la" to the dangerous liaison.
A cult text of the twentieth century for a fresco of society, between bourgeois morals and hypocrisy, fatal attraction and secret anxieties wanted by the artistic director Valeria Ciabattoni .
Among the masterpieces of the British playwright, Nobel Prize for Literature in 2005, "Betrayals", an Elsinor production / Theater Production Center with the contribution of Next - Laboratory of ideas, tells, through a series of enlightening dialogues and conversations, with a bare and essential language, punctuated by significant silences, the origin of a passion , clandestine encounters , in which the couple perhaps unconsciously tries to reproduce the ritual of a coexistence, then the boredom of routine, the fading of desire and disenchantment, until everything ends and the two can think back to the past, to what has been, with a little bitterness and perhaps regret.
On the stages of the Island an intriguing contemporary version of the drama , in the successful Italian translation by Alessandra Serra, with sets by Federico Biancalani, artistic consultancy by Francesco Maria Asselta, photos by Luca del Pia, assistant director Nicolò Valandro, in which a "symbolic" landscape ” marks the leaps in time, with intervals that are never the same, dictated by emotions, by the strength of memories and by free associations of ideas.
