Pietro Pittalis is the new secretary of Forza Italia in Sardinia, appointed by Antonio Tajani .

«I thank our national secretary Antonio Tajani, the president Paolo Barelli and all of Forza Italia for the nomination - comments the deputy - which reaffirms my party's desire to give ever more importance to territorial realities. For Sardinia we also recognize the provincial areas of Gallura, Ogliastra, Medio Campidano and Sulcis Iglesiente in addition to the renewed commitment for Nuoro, Sassari, Oristano and obviously Cagliari".

Pittalis takes over from Ugo Cappellacci , who in recent days, after Todde's victory at the regionals, had announced his intention to take a step back. The former Sardinian governor moves to the helm of the newly created Italian department for Insularity.

Tajani, added Pittalis, «recognized the opportunity to celebrate party congresses in four new provinces, enhancing the specificities of each». This is «a sign of particular attention to Sardinia and for this reason we are already working to give continuity to what Cappellacci has done. We will continue to enhance the Sardinian territory with all the members, the administrators who will be fundamental in the rooting work."
