“I think it is in everyone's interest to fight illegal raves. On the other hand, I find it offensive to attribute to us the will to intervene in other contexts , in which constitutionally guaranteed rights are exercised to which the law clearly makes no reference ”.

Thus the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi tries to dampen the controversy over the "anti rave" decree , which provides for up to six years in prison for "dangerous gatherings" with more than 50 participants.

The fear highlighted by the opposition that with that term "rallies" can go to "question the freedoms of citizens", also affecting the occupations of schools and universities or street demonstrations.

But Piantedosi cuts short: " The goal is raves, we want to dissuade events that put the participants in danger above all and keep entire areas in check ", he says in an interview with Corriere, recalling that in Modena they danced "in a shed unsafe and there was a risk of a massacre ", specifying that" the conversion of the decrees is done in Parliament, not on social networks ".

If they point out that the Predappio demonstration has not been stopped, Piantedosi replies that " it is a farce that I deplore in the most absolute way , which has been going on for years without incidents and under the control of the Police Forces".

Again, on NGOs and immigration: “We acted right away to give an immediate signal to the flag states, we cannot take care of the migrants collected at sea by foreign ships that operate systematically without any prior coordination by the authorities . At the moment these events represent 16% of the people landed in Italy ”.
