Cagliari opens the second half of the season with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Bologna.

Petagna wins the run-off with Pavoletti, first striker with the support of Viola and Nandez, while Wieteska is back in defence. Ready, go and Bologna takes the ball and never lets go. Scuffet (9') had to intervene on Urbanski's shot from the edge, but Cagliari's response came immediately, in the 11th minute, with Viola attempting Sunday's shot from midfield, but the ball went just over the crossbar. Thiago Motta's team dominates the game and, in the 24th minute, passes: Orsolini escapes on the edge of offside, prevents the ball from going to the back and passes Scuffet. But Cagliari, who in the meantime were five behind with Nandez on the defensive line, equalized in the 31st minute: Dossena's throw, Petagna forcefully beats Calafiori, goes around Skorupski and makes it 1-1. Score carried until halftime.

We start again with Azzi in place of Augello, who has been struggling for 45 minutes. Bologna keeps the ball, but doesn't sting. And Cagliari, in the 24th minute, strikes: Wieteska controls a ball in the area and puts it in the middle where Petagna can't reach it, but Calafiori, caught on the counterattack, scores an own goal. Bologna relies on the usual Orsolini, but in the 33rd minute his diagonal shot ends up at the back. In the 37th minute Scuffet does well, diving on Fabbian's shot. The guests' final assault was repelled and Cagliari celebrated the start of the second leg with a golden victory.
