The fusion between performing arts and sports aims to identify the performers of the future.

And the Popular Musical School of Sassari, created and directed by maestro Beniamino Pistidda, is at the top of Italy and Europe with the results obtained during the last edition of the Italian and European championships of sport scenic arts CONI "Performer Cup" held in Ostia. 15 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Special mention for the seventeen-year-old Nicola Dessole from Sassari, absolute champion in the intermediate class in two categories : "complete performer" and "acting". European champion in the professional class (the highest) Morgana Siddi in the complete performer category. Absolute continental title also for Alice Casu in the beginners class for the acting category, gold for Franco Mureddu in singing and for Irene Mureddu in acting, again for the beginners class.

These are the Italian gold medals. In the professional class Nicola Dessole and Coele Langela in acting, Antonio “Bandito” Meleddu in singing, Sofia Zironi, Nicola Dessole and Walter Sulas as complete performers. In the intermediate class victory for Marzio Troncone and Marco Satta as complete performers and Tullio Meloni in singing.

The examining jury was formed, among others, by Beppe Vessicchio, Grazia Di Michele, Raffaele Paganini, Heron Borelli, Garrison Rochelle, Federico Moccia, Tia Architto, Ciro Barbato, Pablo Flores Torres and Maura Paparo.

The Popular School, considering the very high number of podiums achieved in class A (professionals) will have a considerable possibility of being able to access the television program "Performer Cup", the format written and conceived by Valentina Spampinato which last year was broadcast on Rai 2, conducted by Valentina Spampinato and Garrison Rochelle.
