Pavia awards Mauro Repetto with the “San Sirino”, Max Pezzali issues a warning to the Municipality

Max Pezzali does not accept that the Municipality of Pavia assigns the civic merit to Mauro Repetto, his colleague in the 883 at the beginning of the nineties.
The singer's lawyers - Il Giorno and La Provincia Pavese report - sent a letter last November 6 to the (Sardinian) mayor Michele Lissia and the municipal council , asking not to award the civic recognition (which is assigned in a public ceremony on December 9, the day of San Siro, the patron saint of Pavia) to Repetto.
The request is motivated by the fact that, according to the lawyers, the name of 883 is identified with Pezzali, who has already received the San Siro award. But there is also a lawsuit pending before the Court of Milan, with a company of Claudio Cecchetto that claims ownership of the band's name.
The Municipality does not seem willing to backtrack. After the indication of Repetto's name (along with that of 11 other candidates) during the conference of group leaders, the final approval should arrive on the evening of Monday, November 25 in the city council.
Repetto is recognized for making the name of Pavia known throughout Italy with his theatrical show "Alla ricerca dell'uomo ragno". In the proposal to award the prize to Repetto, presented by Pietro Alongi (majority councilor of the Democratic Party), there is no reference to the 883.
