In 2022, over 4.7 million passengers passed through the airports of Northern Sardinia. A record.

The growth compared to 2021 was over 1.7 million pax, +52% and, with over 3 million transited passengers, +26% compared to 2019 (+620,000 units), the domestic segment was the driving force behind the growth of the traffic.

The figure relating to the international segment was also good, where 1.7 million passengers passed, with a recovery of 75% compared to the pre-pandemic period.

ALGHERO – In detail: the passengers transiting through the Alghero airport ( at the center of the controversy over territorial continuity in recent weeks ) in 2022 were 1,533,427, an increase of +10.3% (+143,048 passengers) compared to the same period in 2019 and +68.8% (+624,876 passengers) compared to 2021.

Excellent results were recorded on the domestic market (1,114,093 total passengers), up by +13.1% compared to the same year in 2019 and by +56.5% compared to 2021, while on the international market with 419,334 passengers, recorded a growth of +3.4% compared to 2019 and +113.3% compared to last year.

The significant growth in passengers of 10.3% (compared to the pre-pandemic year 2019) places Alghero airport above the national average, positioning it in the ranking of Italian airports (with over 1 million passengers) among the more “performing” airports in terms of traffic recovery.

OLBIA – With 3,167,368 passengers transited, equal to +6.3% (+188,599 passengers) compared to 2019 and a total of 40,093 flights managed, Olbia airport records the absolute traffic record.

Over 1,895,554 passengers traveled on domestic routes, with an increase of +35% (over 491,000 passengers in absolute value) compared to 2021 (and 2019), when the traffic lost during the pandemic had already been completely recovered . The passengers generated by international routes were 1,271,814, -20% compared to 2019 (-303,093 passengers) and +88% compared to 2021 (+594,780 passengers).

The performance of the last winter months of November and December was also positive, with growth of +4.1% and +6.1% respectively compared to 2019.
