Tadei Pogacar won the fourth stage of the 81st edition of Paris-Nice, held from Saint Amand Montrond to La Loge des Gardes and 165 kilometers long.

The Slovenian, who beat the Frenchman David Gaudu by a few meters at the finish line, is also the new leader of the general classification.

Significant gaps at the finish at the end of a 6.7 km long climb with an average gradient of 7.1%. At the finish line the winner of the last Tour de France, the Danish Jonas Vingegaard, accused a 43" gap, finishing in sixth place; the French Romain Bardet seventh at 51" and the Englishman Simon Yates ninth with the same time. In the general classification of the French race, Pogacar precedes Gaudu himself, second at 10", and Vingegaard, third at 44".

Simon Yates is fourth at 56", Matteo Sobrero - first of the Italians - tenth at 1'54". Tomorrow the 5th stage is scheduled, from Saint Symphorien sur Coise to Saint Paul Trois Chateaux, the longest of the French race with its 212.5 kilometres.

The grand finale on Sunday on the Côte d'Azur.
