As former partner Fabiola Palese has already said, even according to Paolo Calissano's brother the actor - found dead in his apartment in Rome on 31 December last - did not take his own life.

“My brother didn't kill himself, I'm sure. He was sick but it is a gesture he would never have done, ”Roberto Calissano reported in an interview with Oggi.

"I am convinced that he made trouble with psychotropic drugs - he explained -. Like all suffering people, Paul suffered a lot at the holidays and I think he wanted to be stunned to wait for them to end. Our uncle had invited him to lunch at Christmas but he had declined ”.

The actor, star of soaps such as "Vivere" and "Vento di ponente", suffered from depression due to the difficult working period he was experiencing. But despite this, his brother recalls, “he had plans. He struggled so hard to get up, it didn't have to end like this. My brother was a dreamer and a creative. Ever since he realized they no longer wanted him as an actor he had started working as an author and screenwriter and wrote really beautiful scripts and scripts. He had fallen into this dark period after the indifference shown by the producers towards his work as an author: he was very upset by not being able to take over the professional situation ".

“I don't know if he was followed by a doctor but there were too many medicines at home - he concluded -. The prosecutor is investigating for manslaughter. I would like it to be clarified who prescribed them and who sold them to them ”.

In 2005 Calissano was arrested for the overdose death of a Brazilian dancer, Ana Lucia Bandeira Bezerra, at her home in Genoa and negotiated a four-year sentence, serving it in a drug addiction rehabilitation community. He then obtained the pardon.
