There are 1,447,761 Sardinians called to vote tomorrow, February 25, to elect the President of the Region and renew the Regional Council: 709,840 are men and 737,921 are women.

The overall data also includes the 112,221 voters residing outside Sardinia (registered with the Aire) of which 59,476 men and 52,745. The island is divided into 1844 electoral sections .

The candidates

Four aspiring governors, two women and two men: in alphabetical order Lucia Chessa for Sardigna R-esiste, Renato Soru with the Sardinian Coalition, Alessandra Todde for the Campo largo with Pd-M5s traction and Paolo Truzzu for the centre-right. Around 1,400 candidates will have to compete for the 60 seats: 58 elected in the 8 electoral districts (Cagliari, Carbonia-Iglesias, Medio Campidano, Nuoro, Ogliastra, Olbia-Tempio, Oristano and Sassari) plus the presidential candidate who wins the elections and gubernatorial challenger came in second.

The lists

The councilor candidates appear on 25 lists: ten for Alessandra Todde (M5s-A Innantis, Pd, Avs, Uniti con Alessandra Todde, Progressisti-La base, Demos, Sinistra Futura, Psi, Orizzonte Comune and Fortza Paris); nine for Paolo Truzzu with the centre-right Fdi, Lega, Forza Italia, Psd'Az, Riformatori, Udc, Alleanza Sardegna-Pli, Sardegna in the center 20Venti, Rotondi's DC). There are five lists for Renato Soru and his Sardinian Coalition (Project Sardinia, +Europa-Azione con Soru, Rifondazione Comunista, Liberu and Vota Sardigna). A list for Lucia Chessa, with Sardigna R-esiste.
