An extraordinary opening close to Sartiglia Sunday . From Friday 28th the ancient Reggia giudicale, then former prison, opens its doors to host two exhibitions dedicated to the architectural history of the city and contemporary art organized by the Oristano Foundation, with the collaboration of the municipal department of Culture.
Having received the green light from the State Property Agency for the use of the former prison in Piazza Manno, the two exhibitions, curated by Obler Luperi, are dedicated to the architectural history of the city and contemporary art. The opening hours to the public will be from 10 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm, with the exception of the three days of Sartiglia, when it will be open from 10 am to 12 pm.
"It is a project in which we strongly believe for two reasons - explains the president of the Foundation, Carlo Cuccu - The first is symbolic and consists in the possibility of making the Reggia visitable; the second is to bring a further cultural contribution among the events surrounding the Carnival".
«The reopening of the ancient Reggia on the occasion of the Sartiglia represents an event of extraordinary importance – underlines the councilor, Luca Faedda – The Municipality has supported with conviction the project, which unites memory and contemporaneity».
The first exhibition, “Medieval Oristano. The square, the palace, the castle and other wonders. A dialogue between Mauro Ferreri and Gabriele Pettinau”, is dedicated to the memory of the independent researcher Nadir Danieli (1992-2024). The second exhibition is “… and the stars look very different today”, dedicated to contemporary art with the participation of 12 artists.
