The opera returns in stage form to the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari.

There is great anticipation for Gluck's "Orfeo ed Euridice", a late Baroque and eighteenth-century musical masterpiece, scheduled from 12 to 20 November. It is the sixth appointment with "Autumn in music 2021".

It was March 2020 when the programming of a highly acclaimed "Pagliacci" by Leoncavallo was interrupted after the fifth performance for the Covid emergency. Last May, but with distancing in the hall and the stalls closed to the public, Donizetti's "Don Pasquale" was then performed.

"Finally we bring back to the stage an opera with all the trappings, with a traditional staging - explains superintendent Nicola Colabianchi - For the Theater, for the city and for Sardinia it is a great day and we hope that the audience will gradually regain possession of the healthy habit of attending theaters and attending works of great beauty, as in this case with Orpheus and Euridice ".

THE REPRESENTATION - The opera in three acts on a libretto by Ranieri de 'Calzabigi will be presented in a new staging of the Lirico. Director and costume designer Nicola Berloffa, born in Cuneo in 1980, one of the most promising of his generation and making his debut in Cagliari as a director. The scenes are by Aurelio Colombo, the lights by Valerio Tiberi, the choreography by Luigia Frattaroli.

On the podium, his first time at the Opera, the Greek George Petrou, considered one of the most sensitive interpreters of the Baroque repertoire, will lead the Orchestra and Chorus of the Theater. The choir master is Giovanni Andreoli.

In the cast Victória Pitts, Caterina Dellaere, Theodora Raftis, Francesca Sassu, Silvia Frigato, Giulia Della Peruta.
