Open BNL Cagliari: Barbara Dessolis and Eleonora Alvisi reach the semifinals

Barbara Dessolis and Eleonora Alvisi have qualified for the semifinals of the women's singles event at the Open Bn l, currently underway at TC Cagliari . Dessolis suffered the withdrawal of third-seeded Cristiana Ferrando, who complained of back problems when the Nuoro player was already leading 6-4, 1-0.
Alvisi, the second seed, eliminated seventh seed Anna Tambelli 6-4, 6-3. The other two women's quarterfinals are on the court today : top seed Jessica Bertoldo (TC Cagliari) against Greta Rizzetto, and two other members of the host club face off: Marcella Dessolis and fourth seed Linda Salvi.
The round of 16 has concluded with the victories of the number 2 seed Gian Marco Ortenzi (7-6, 6-3 over Francesco Mineo Mineo) and the number 7 Andrea Paolini (2-6, 6-3, 6-3 in a comeback against Giuseppe Catapane). The men's quarter-finals are also on the programme today, with the number 1 seed Alessandro Ingarao against Filipp Callerio, the new Cagliari player Noah Perfetti (5) against Andrea Motta, the standard-bearer of Tc Alghero Gabriele Maria Noce (3) against Gregorio Biondolillo and the Ortenzi-Paolini challenge.
