AS Roma announces that its relationship with Claudio Ranieri has ended.
The news had been in the air, now it's official: "The Club wishes to thank Claudio for his significant contribution to Roma," reads a statement from the Roman club. "We have full confidence in the path that awaits us under the technical guidance of Gian Piero Gasperini, with the shared goal of growing, improving, and achieving results worthy of our history."
After a splendid spell on the Giallorossi bench when, having replaced Juric, he took a team in complete disarray and led them to Europe, just one point away from the Champions League places, Ranieri has become the club's senior advisor.
A short-lived adventure. The disagreements with coach Gasperini, which erupted loudly and with public statements in recent weeks, put the ownership at a crossroads. And between the two, the Friedkins chose Gasperini.
