Taken on Monte dei 7 Fratelli in 2017, the photo is the result of a wait of about ten hours, explains the author, «I positioned myself in the early hours of the day and was only able to shoot in the afternoon, from a well camouflaged identified thanks to numerous and exhausting explorations; in that roost the eagles used to perch, mate and control the area for nesting».

Sirigu, nature photographer, passionate observer and scholar of nature, has always been deeply attached to his land, to which he has dedicated numerous environmental, wildlife and cultural volumes. The winning photo is included in a monograph on the golden eagle and has already appeared in numerous publications.

«The finish line of the Oasis Photocontest was a big surprise. I was a candidate without too many pretensions, but I'm thrilled that the photo was liked and won this important recognition». The photos arriving in the final phase of the contest will be exhibited in an exhibition at the Roero castle in Monticello d'Alba, starting from 2 July.
