There is a space-time gap, unmarked and in the center of the city. More precisely at number 191 of via Roma, beyond a modern and unsuspected entrance: just take a few steps to find yourself inside the faithful reproduction of a hut, in the presence of a priestess with a cape and pointed hat like Harry Potter. With the sound of the water in the background and the unmissable appointment with the giants of Mont'e Prama. It is the history of the Sardinian Nuragic civilization, probably still too little known, proposed with a decidedly innovative format and capable of conquering half the world: all certified, in the many reviews on Tripadvisor that place Nuragica Museum Experience as the best museum in Cagliari.

The ranking

First step of the podium, in front of the National Archaeological Museum, the Citadel of Museums, the Municipal Art Gallery and even the Anatomical Wax Museum. Americans, Canadians, Germans, Swiss, Brazilians, Spaniards, Poles and even some Australians: tourists arriving in the Sardinian capital reward the Sardinia Experience cooperative and appreciate Nuragica. An itinerant reality born in 2017, which after crossing half of Sardinia, even arrived at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples in 2022 - at the request of its director - and settled in the headquarters in Via Roma, where it continues to collect acclaim. An exceptional showcase for the Sardinian civilization of 3500 years ago. «We are in 1800 BC, this is where our journey begins»: informs Paolo Alberto Pinna, tour operator and creator of Nuragica together with Maria Carmela Solinas. It is he who accompanies visitors into the glorious past of the island, explaining every secret of a little-known history.

Time travel

About an hour's visit, among lights, sounds, secret passages and ten settings: we move from the era of the towers to the workshop where the bronzes take shape; there are the giants' tombs, the sanctuaries and the altar where the Bronze Age ends. And then the immersive virtual reality: «The first in Sardinia capable of bringing to life a bygone era with all its protagonists», the creators of this decidedly atypical museum proudly underline, because inside there are only reproductions: «So perfect that there are many who reach out to touch the monuments thinking they are real." One of the many satisfactions for the six members, all private, of the cooperative who decided to bet on culture and tourism: «The many testimonials from visitors from all over the world repay the many efforts and above all allow us to give back to our history a part of the dignity it deserves."

The petition

«During the stop at the Archaeological Museum of Naples, where Nuragica remained for a few months, many were amazed at the greatness of our history, believing it immoral that it did not appear in textbooks», say the founders. They too are absolutely convinced of this, so much so that in 2019 they launched an online petition to ask the Ministry of Education, the President of the Region and the Regional School Office to take action. They arrived at the Government, which changed shortly after. But they don't give up, and continue to collect signatures to give the Nuragic civilization of Sardinia the relevance it deserves and adequate space in the study programs. For now they have reached thirteen thousand signatures.
