"We are going to play a difficult match on a difficult pitch and against an opponent of absolute value. But we will give our best to demonstrate that the championship is not over."

Davide Nicola certainly does not want to play the role of the sacrificial victim, on Friday night, in Naples, despite the technical gap and many, many, absences.

"The difference between us and them is abysmal ," the premise. "But with the organization, the determination and the fact that we have already reached our goal, we can try to be competitive. I repeat, we want to do our best," reiterates the Cagliari coach during the press conference at the "Crai Sport Center" in Assemini. "The important thing is to always leave the field with our heads held high."

Nicola reels off the list of unavailable players. Meanwhile, the former Caprile, himself: «He got injured in the first half against Venezia and couldn't shoot with his right foot anymore» , explains the Piedmontese coach.

Then again: « Gaetano, Luvumbo, Pavoletti . We'll see how Zortea is and whether to use him, possibly, from the start or during the match».

Mina and Luperto? «They were injured and were recovered in extremis for last Sunday's match. They are there, but clearly they are not in optimal condition».

As for his future, Nicola is taking his time: «I came to Cagliari with the idea of building something» , he is keen to point out, in the meantime. «If I were to talk about my future now, I wouldn't be focused on the game. Once the championship is over, after a year of experience, we will meet with the club to understand where and how we can improve».
