Jazz, funk, fusion and now also bossa nova. Roberto Tola's musical horizons continue to expand as does his international fame and credibility, demonstrated by numerous awards and top-level collaborations. "From Rio to São Paulo" has just been released on digital platforms, a new single that pays homage to Brazilian culture and anticipates the release of the album "Jazz Junction", scheduled for the end of May.
The guitarist and composer from Sassari explains: « This song is my musical thanks to Brazil . I wanted to capture not only the rhythms and harmonies of this wonderful musical tradition, but also the lively and welcoming spirit that I encountered traveling from Rio to Sao Paulo. It is an invitation to let yourself be carried away by the sound waves of bossa nova, to feel the warmth of the Brazilian sun and to dance lightly, just like the Brazilians do».
The single is embellished with two solos: one on the guitar by Tola himself and the other on the piano by the Argentine Luciano De La Rosa . The song also features Maciek Szczyciński on electric bass and Esteban Rotunno on drums.
Conceived and recorded at Eden Beach Studio in Sardinia, the song saw Tola himself take care not only of the composition and arrangement, but also of the mixing and mastering, thus ensuring a sonic coherence that perfectly reflects his artistic vision.
“From Rio to São Paulo” has been selected to participate in the prestigious selection for the Latin Grammy Awards, organized by the Recording Academy (LARAS) .
