In Muay Thai, the stars made in Sardinia shine. During the Italian Championships and the Italian Federkombat Trophy , held at the Palatorrino in Rome on March 1 and 2, the Chang Peuk Gym Academy of Selargius won 10 medals, including three golds, three silvers and four bronzes. Much satisfaction for the coach Gianluca Carta , who in his sporting past won the title of European champion and was a member of the Italian National Team .
Among the three most prestigious medals, Matteo Spiga stands out in particular, who, for the third year in a row, becomes Italian Champion in his category (Junior 1st series 67 kg) . Thanks to the title won at the beginning of the month, he reconfirms the jersey of the Italian National Team with which he participated last year in the World Championships in Bangkok . This year, again with the National Team , he will leave for Abu Dhabi . A young man with a lot of hunger and desire to do, ready to take on important stages, conquering ring after ring.
Spiga will now have to focus on the next match, which will see him busy on Saturday 29 March at the Uta sports hall for the Kickboxing and Muay Thai Gala Uta Fight Contest 2025. The opponent of the striker born in 2009 will be Davide Cabiddu . The two have already faced each other in the past and Cabiddu prevailed on points. For Spiga this could be a nice rematch.
But the Academy is not only proud of what Spiga achieved. The company is also very satisfied with the other boys who won medals: Chiara Bulla and Riccardo Sanna (gold); Mauro Mascia , Giada Toro and Alessandro Pia (silver); Simone Scialpi , Andrea Cordeddu , Diego Lobina and Andrea Deias (bronze). Now it's back to the gym, all ready to project themselves into the next sporting event.
