Mourning in the world of Italian cinema. At the end of a long illness, the actor Ivano Marescotti died this afternoon at his home in Villanova di Bagnacavallo, his hometown, in the province of Ravenna. He had turned 77 last February.

With an office career ahead of him, he had decided to be an actor at the age of 30.

In the theater he has worked, among others, with Leo De Bernardinis, Mario Martone, Carlo Cecchi, Giampiero Solari, Giorgio Albertazzi. The film debut dates back to 1989, in a small part in the film "The Belt". Then he meets Silvio Soldini and participates in the film "L'aria serena dell'Ovest". To then participate in about 130 productions.

He had been Dr. Randazzo in "Johnny Stecchino", the Northern League father of the young woman who had an affair with Checco Zalone in the film "Cado dalle nubi" and also Alex's father in "Jack Frusciante released from the group". He has also worked on international sets, having roles in films such as Anthony Minghella's “The Talented Mr Ripley”, Ridley Scott's “Hannibal” and Antoine Fuqua's “King Arthur”.
