Francesco Pilu, voice and leader of the Cordas et Cannas, has died. He was originally from Olbia.

The artist, founder of the group born in 1978, was very famous throughout Sardinia but not only: there are numerous concerts that have seen the Cordas et Cannas protagonists in the Peninsula and abroad, often called by emigrant associations.

On stage Pilu also played the harmonica, the launeddas, su solittu and the accordion.

The news has spread throughout the island and there are many messages of condolence. In all the great pain for this farewell: " We will never forget you, your voice will accompany us forever ".

In addition to Pilu, also Andreino Marras, Bruno Piccinnu and Gesuino Deiana gave birth to the Cordas et Cannas at the end of the seventies.

Their music, often based on traditional sounds, is composed of texts in Sardinian, with also famous reinterpretations: “Ninna nanna pitzinnu”, “Procurade 'e moderatere”, "Su Testamentu", and there are numerous songs that have become almost a hymn : “Bandera”, “Su Falchittu”.

Various collaborations with other artists such as Paolo Fresu and Antonello Salis.
