The Campidano Lai-Atzeni house, in the center of Monserrato, is becoming a television set. The historic traditional residence—which still retains its 1917 furnishings—has recently opened its front door and courtyard to a film crew, who have chosen it as the location for a documentary on Sardinian traditions.

A 24-episode series shot entirely in Sardinian, titled "Janas guardianas de su tempu," produced by Nical Films. The story and lead actress is Claudia Zedda, an anthropologist, writer, and expert on the island's myths.

"We chose Casa Lai-Atzeni as the setting because it perfectly reflects the soul of the project," emphasizes director Alessandra Usai. The museum-building is a veritable time machine that allows visitors to travel back over a hundred years. First opened to the public in 2017, the historic residence hosts local civic and religious events, book presentations, and photo shoots, right up to its current arrival on television.

"It's a way to raise awareness of our small business, which we're proud of, beyond the Monserrato, regional, and national borders," commented Paolo Lai, co-owner with his parents Ottavio and Silvana.
