Everything is ready on the island to welcome the Olympic flame of the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Games.

The event is scheduled for December 13th and 14th, with 12 municipalities affected by the torchbearers' passage.

The arrival, from Tuscany, is scheduled at the port of Olbia. The journey will then continue, calling at Sassari, Porto Torres , Stintino, Alghero, and Nuoro, arriving in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele.

The next day, departing from Nuoro, the Olympic Flame will venture towards Oristano, then Sanluri, the UNESCO site of the Nuraghe di Barumini, and then Iglesias, Quartu Sant'Elena and arriving in Cagliari.

Each day of the relay will conclude with the lighting of the brazier, a moment of celebration and participation that will mark the culmination of the activities, including musical performances and artistic performances.

THE JOURNEY OF THE FLAME – A 63-day journey, 60 stops in Italy, and 12,000 kilometers to cover, touching all 110 provinces of the peninsula. It begins on November 26th in Olympia, with the lighting of the sacred flame, which will then arrive in Italy on December 4th in Rome. The journey will begin in the capital, two days later. The Flame will be in Naples for Christmas and will celebrate the New Year in Bari; on January 26th, exactly 70 years after the Opening Ceremony of the Games, it will return to Cortina d'Ampezzo; finally, it will conclude its journey in Milan, entering the San Siro Stadium on the evening of Friday, February 6, 2026.

The route, created thanks to the two partners Coca-Cola and Eni, is also designed to pay homage to the great historical and cultural heritage of our country, which boasts the largest number of UNESCO sites in the world: the Flame will illuminate many of the 60 sites inscribed on the World Heritage List.
