After five months of investigations, the Public Prosecutor of Bologna has decided that for the death of the 28-year-old singer Michele Merlo , killed by a cerebral ischemia due to fulminant leukemia, the doctors of Bologna have no responsibility.

The story of the former competitor of Amici took place between 2 and 6 June last, from the first access to the Vergato emergency room to the death in the resuscitation of the Maggiore hospital.

According to the experts, nothing more could be done for Merlo in Bologna. Perhaps, however, it was still time when the boy - in the month of May - turned to some doctors from Vicenza and Padua, in Rosà and Cittadella, to understand what the bruises he had on his leg were, also accompanied by other bleeding.

A condition that continued to worsen, even visually, and had prompted him to seek medical advice, which must now be shed light on. With this aim, the Bolognese magistrates sent the documents of the investigation, a dossier for manslaughter, against unknown persons, to the Vicenza Public Prosecutor's Office. That will have to restart the investigation.

"Michele - explains the lawyer of the Merlo family, Marco Dal Ben - presented a diffuse hematoma on his leg that was certainly not attributable to a blow, given the size. Now we will wait to understand what to do. Parents are not looking for culprits. They just want the truth about what happened ".

The one that had struck Michele Merlo, acute promyelocytic leukemia, is a subtype of leukemia, it represents the most aggressive form; it is also called fulminant, due to the speed with which it can be fatal. If not diagnosed in time it can cause a patient to die in a few days due to bleeding, but if diagnosed early, according to experts, it can be treatable.
