Meloni government, undersecretaries appointed: there are 11 women. Sardinia with a dry mouth
"The criterion of choice was that of merit", explained the Prime MinisterIn choosing the undersecretaries, the criterion was that of merit, therefore "identifying the best people for certain positions". Giorgia Meloni explained this when talking about how the names were selected taking into account female and territorial representation: "It was not easy - added the Prime Minister - but we did everything in a few hours".
And among those names there is not even a Sardinian . Nothing to do for Salvatore Deidda (FdI), who was almost certainly given to Defense, for which the presidency of the Defense commission is looming. Also out of the blue P ietro Pittalis and Ugo Cappellacc i: the second left the race voluntarily, the first had pulled back a few days ago.
In the government, however, a Sardinian representation remains, and not just: it is that of Marina Elvira Calderone, Minister of Labor and Social Policies.
Here is the full list of undersecretaries appointed today.
