The quality of Italian dubbing can be argued about, but also joked about: and this is exactly what Mauro Porcu wants to offer the public with " The Museum of Errors ". After performing in Alghero last weekend, Porcu will bring the show to the Yaqqu Bar in Cagliari , in Via Piccioni 12 , on Friday the 6th at 8:30 pm , between history, laughter and reflections.

Starting with the subtitle " Crimes and Misdeeds of Italian Dubbing and Adaptations ," the show is described as a guided tour of the most glaring and hilarious dubbing mistakes made by Italian distributors and performers, from the lost-in-translation effect to decidedly unsuccessful cultural mediation, including censorship, carelessness, and spurious jokes. But also the oversized egos of those involved, or even the poor skills and dire working conditions, which result in adaptations that almost entirely betray the original source material : viewers are thus driven to question whether, beyond the nebulous veil of myth, Italian voice actors are truly the best in the world, as is usually—or better, still—said.

Porcu, originally from Macomer and born in 1974, directed the Casa Manno Museum in Alghero on behalf of the Siotto Foundation from 2016 to 2022, while also working between the Unla Cultural Services Center and the Emmepi bookshop . He has also collaborated with numerous recent museums in Bosa, such as Casa Deriu , the Pinacoteca Antonio Atza , and the Melkiorre Melis Collection . From 2002 to 2014, he also wrote for music magazines such as Drum Club, Guitar Club, Drumset Mag, and others, publishing the book " Metronomicon " (Tempesta Editore) in 2015, on the great groove artists from John Bohnam to Vinnie Paul. As a popularizer, he holds seminars, workshops, readings, and conferences, often focusing on film and cinema music, an interest also demonstrated by his recent appointment as artistic director of the Cinema Carlo Felice in Torralba.
