"An unseemly scene that everyone saw and condemned and I hope it is a lesson for the participants." Thus the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, during his official visit to Romania, answering a question about the brawl in the Italian Parliament ( THE VIDEO ) during the discussion on Autonomy.

From Bucharest the Head of State also spoke about the result of the European elections of 8 and 9 June. "The composition of the European summits must avoid fractures precisely because Europe faces a series of challenges that must be addressed quickly", explained Mattarella during the meeting with the Romanian president Klaus Iohannis. Adding: «Democratic conscience requires us to always respect the voters' vote. But it is important to remember that there is an indispensable character of the EU born from a pact of peace and democracy and from some values which are the rule of law, social cohesion, the dignity of every person and the desire for social growth. Anyone who is part of it - concluded the Head of State - must always have them as a reference".
