Giuseppe Marotta is the new president of Inter. The Nerazzurri club made this known in a statement. «FC Internazionale Milano SpA today announces the proposed appointment of Giuseppe Marotta as new President», explains the company. «The proposed appointments follow the recent change of ownership of the Club. On 22 May 2024, funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management took ownership of Inter following the failure to repay the three-year loan granted by Oaktree to Inter's holding companies».
The new board of directors took office today, with six new members all joining Oaktree.
«I would like to thank Oaktree for their trust in giving me this opportunity to work alongside them and the Board of Directors. This appointment is in recognition of the fantastic work carried out by the many people who have run the Club over the last three years. I am proud to be part of Inter and I reiterate my commitment to the Club", said Marotta.
From the Oaktree fund they say that «in the role of president, Marotta will give strong continuity to the Club and will bring to the Presidency the experience, passion and dedication gained during a brilliant career in the football world - underlines Oaktree. The Board of Directors stands ready to support the President and management of Inter to ensure that the Club is positioned for continued success on and off the pitch."
