The Marina Cafè Noir is moving to Elmas . After its departure from Cagliari and the controversy , today the organizers announced via social media the new "home" chosen for the 24th edition.
"We were born twenty-four years ago near the water, in the city neighborhood that gave us our name," the long post begins, "and we return, now a quarter of a century later, to smell its scents, see its colors, and reread its characteristics, starting with the name of the place that will host us: Giliàcquas, Elmas, Santa Gilla lagoon, a marvelous place and, in some ways, still waiting to be discovered and made known to the general public."
«It was a complex, painful and long-considered choice – the organizers continue –, but in the end our nomadism, the taste for freedom and for new adventures prevailed, and the hospitality and desire of the Municipality of Elmas to have us with them did the rest, giving us the possibility of not moving too far from our city (and from our historic community of reference)».
Unchanged, however, are "all the features that have made it so beloved over more than two decades of books, stories, big names, shows, and concerts: the completely free admission, the focus on the major themes of our time (including the darker ones, as always), the original productions, the attention to important names on the international literary scene, as well as the attention to the island's actors, musicians, and artists."
"As always," he concluded, "it will be a great celebration of shared knowledge and stories, with its free and inclusive dimension further enhanced by a superb venue and a human-scale community dimension."
