Odds 103 is a bluff. It will affect an audience of just 45,000 people in Italy, about a thousand Sardinians wanting to venture a calculation .

The stakes set by the Meloni government allow early retirement only for workers with 62 years of age and 41 of contributions , with a penalty of up to 67 years on the check. Those aged 63 and 40 of contributions will not be able to access it, as well as those with 64 and 39 of contributions. In short, it is not a real 103 quota.

In the text of the manoeuvre, which began circulating last night, there are some surprises compared to what was announced by Giorgia Meloni at the press conference. The halt for two years of the Istat adjustment of the fines, 400 million allocated for the Milan-Cortine works, the excise duties on cigarettes increased by 70 cents on average per pack , new exemptions from the obligation to allow small payments under 30 euros also with cards and debit cards.

Now the maneuver is awaited in the Budget Commission, then arrives in the Chambers. And there may be changes. The premier accepted the proposal for a confrontation launched by Calenda, according to which Meloni "is new in the role and must be helped, not just contested" .

But the main changes could come right within the center-right, between a Berlusconi disappointed by a prime minister who has not consulted him (FI is asking for a further increase in minimum pensions) and the moderates who with Maurizio Lupi are wondering if "quota 103 is necessary to do this 'year". Even for some members of the Northern League, the maneuver is "poor and insufficient".

Criticisms also come from the president of Confindustria Carlo Bonomi, who speaks of a budget law "on time and without vision" .

But Giorgia Meloni defends her work and that of the ministers: «A courageous and concrete budget law, which pays attention to the point and offers a vision of economic priorities. Fostering growth, helping the most vulnerable, investing in families, increasing social justice, supporting our productive fabric, betting on the future: this is our recipe for restoring Italy's strength and vision. Forward with your head held high."
