The real protagonists of the inauguration of the 22nd exhibition of the book published in Sardinia were the local school children, which took place this morning inside the pavilions in the former Mura barracks. A large group of students, including the mayor and vice mayor of the children's municipal council (Riccardo Serra and Andrea Succu), represented what will be the cultural and economic future of the territory and the island. " More than 1,500 children are participating in the workshops related to the book exhibition: it is therefore an exhibition projected into the future ," says Roberta Balestrucci, of the Cultural Services Center.
The action of the boys was remembered by all the speeches of the personalities present at the inauguration, starting with that of the prefect of Nuoro Alessandra Nigro: «Congratulations boys for your commitment, you concretely represent the future. With the mayor I have committed to organize, according to a general concept of culture and specifically of culture of legality, a series of meetings especially in schools, to continue to sow seeds that one day will be beautiful plants». A concept reiterated immediately afterwards by the mayor Riccardo Uda. « The boys are the future and the schools will be increasingly involved . The next edition of the book exhibition will take place in spring also to be able to work with the students during the school year. We will all reap the fruits together».
Wide availability from the Sardinia Region , confirmed by Pasquale Lubinu of the Cabinet Office of the Department of Culture: «When an initiative reaches its twenty-second edition, it means that it is rooted and heartfelt. The Region believes in these initiatives and has increased funding for publishing, compensating for the cuts made at a national level. For us, it is in fact fundamental to support the publication of texts that represent our uniqueness, our identity. The hope is that this event can grow further and become a cultural point of reference for everyone. The Region is available to collaborate».
The Councilor for Culture of Macomer, Fabiana Cugusi, adds: «In addition to the large representation of Sardinian publishers, this edition sees the involvement of the Union of Marghine Municipalities because the exhibition is for everyone, not just ours. We want it to expand more and more, involving the entire region and an ever-increasing number of schools ». Rita Atzori, president of the culture commission: «The community is responding well to this initiative and there was great participation in the preview, for the presentation of the book by the Macomer philosopher Luca Demontis». Franco Scanu, president of the Union of Municipalities: «The involvement of the Union of Municipalities in the organization of the book exhibition is good news, to look to the future together».
From tomorrow until Sunday the books will be presented in various municipalities of Marghine and events and initiatives, with workshops, will take place everywhere in Macomer .
