"The instrumental tests carried out today have revealed a fracture of the left cheekbone that will require surgery , scheduled for the next few hours," AC Milan announced in an announcement following the Croatian midfielder's involuntary head-to-head with Locatelli during Milan-Juventus.

"Further details will be communicated after the operation," the Rossoneri club further announced.

The collision occurred during the second half of yesterday's Milan-Juventus match at San Siro.
