From horror shorts, awarded in the US and Europe, to a medium-length film on social isolation and youth distress. The Sassari director Alfredo Moreno, 49, has defined the cast of “Look Out”: which will be filmed between Sassari and Los Angeles in May and plans to release for Christmas.
In the role of the protagonist, Alice, the fifteen-year-old Isabella Marrosu, who studies in the city. There will also be Andrea Arru, the actor from Ploaghe who is one of the most used young people in cinema (“The boy with pink pants”) and fiction (“Di4ri”) and also one of the most awarded Under. For Andrea Arru a “return” since in 2019 he was the protagonist of “Resurrection”, the horror short by Moreno.
The director explains: «I am attracted by the social theme, I am interested in exploring youth distress, living in the head of a girl. The film also has a thriller development because by isolating herself from the world, living on social media, Alice ends up not distinguishing reality from fiction, she ends up making her own movie in her head and suspecting that the boy next door is a criminal».
The screenplay was co-written with Adriana Muroni. The cast is completed by Giorgia Sarigu (she attended musical and theater acting schools) and two athletes: volleyball player Alessia Pegorer, who plays in La Smeralda Volley Ossi, and Alessandro Manca who played in the youth team of Dinamo Basket.
The production is by Casablanca Film and Delmar Holding, with the contribution of Los Angeles Independent Film and Fondazione di Sardegna, with the patronage and contribution of the Municipality of Sassari.
