Forza Italia lashes out against the appointment of Saverio Lo Russo, a first-rate leader of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, as general secretary of the Region. Appointment with which, according to Ugo Cappellacci, deputy and leader of the Islands department of Forza Italia, «Todde assumes responsibility for the political repression against Sardinian autonomy».
«We are surprised to discover that Dr. Lo Russo, responsible and main architect, from 2011 to 2014, of the appeals to the Constitutional Court aimed at repressing Sardinian autonomy, is now rewarded with an appointment . With this move, Todde blocks the autonomy of our island", is Cappellacci's attack. «For Todde, the “merit” of Dr. Lo Russo is reduced to his role as director general, from 2011 to 2014, at the Office for the examination of legitimacy of regional laws and constitutional litigation, where he led a hostile policy towards Sardinia . This policy aimed to deny the Island the financial resources it owed and to limit its rights to territorial continuity and management of state property. Sardinia has successfully defended its autonomy in court, overturning the repressive actions of those, like Lo Russo, who tried to limit it. Despite repeated attempts to stifle our rights, Sardinia emerged victorious, protecting its resources and autonomy. Now, with the appointment of Lo Russo, Todde seems to ignore these victories, following a political direction that undermines Sardinian skills and identity ."
«In concrete terms - he continues - the helm is entrusted to those who operated for a policy that denied our Island the money due on the basis of article 8 of the Statute , which wanted to compress territorial continuity, functions in the field of state property and landscape. I remember that on these matters there were numerous appeals won in that period by Sardinia and the slaps given to those who denied our Autonomy".
«In short - concluded Cappellacci - "foreign" appointments are not just a question of residence and choices which represent an insult to all the skills already present on the island, but a question of political line . What would we say about a lawyer who entrusts the fate of one of his clients to the man who until a minute earlier was asking for a life sentence?".
