Karim Benzema leaves Real Madrid. This was announced by the Spanish club itself.

"We want to show him the utmost appreciation and thank him because he is already one of our legends," writes Real. Benzema joined the merengues in 2009 at the age of 21.

With the Real shirt he won 25 titles: 5 Champions Leagues, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, La Liga 4 times, the King's Cup 3 times and 4 Spanish Super Cups. Benzema is currently the UEFA Ballon d'Or and player of the year. Benzema is the fifth player in terms of appearance with the camiceta blanca, worn for 647 games. And he is the second goalscorer in the club's history with 353 goals.

“Real Madrid is and will always be his home. We wish him and his family the best for this new stage in their lives,” writes the Madrid club which has organized an official greeting in the sports city for 6 June.
