A book to overturn a thorny issue. “Cupio dissolvi”, published by Carocci, talks about suicide. And the author, Leonardo Tondo, one of the leading scholars of psychiatry on the island, warns: "Suicide is not a social phenomenon, but a pathology that can be prevented".

Presenting Tondo's work tonight in the Sala Giorgio Pisano were Maria Antonietta Mongiu and the editorial director and co-director of L'Unione Sarda Lorenzo Paolini . "The goal of this book is to bring suicide back into the psychopathological sphere," said Tondo. «Yes, because it actually belongs to the psychopathological sphere. We speak very often of suicides for environmental causes, for causes external to the individual. Above all, suicide is an absolutely individual event, which is not a psychiatric idealistic state of mind ». And again: «Very often the person suffers and a sign of hope arises from the whole book. Because, unlike once again a sociological and philosophical approach on which one cannot intervene, a psychopathological model must prevail».

The details in the report that will be published in the paper newspaper on newsstands tomorrow.
