Born 25 years ago to cultivate the Gremi "nursery", the Faradda dei Mini Candelieri in Sassari marks the beginning of the ten days leading up to the Descent of the Candelieri on 14 August. This evening 14 mini candles left from Porta Sant'Antonio to reach the square of Santa Maria. Under the proud eyes of relatives, admired by tourists and envious of boys and girls who would like to imitate them.

In all, 180 children between the ages of 3 and 14. The Piccapietre paraded with two Mini candlesticks, like the Viandanti, the Laborers and the Tailors. One candle each for Masons, Blacksmiths, Carpenters, Ortolani, Butchers and Autoferrotranvieri.

Among the candlestick head also two girls, Ires Pirastru for the Little Masons and Noemi Ruda for the little Ortolani. Several girls among the bearers, engaged like boys in a tiring task: to make the candle dance according to the instructions of the Chief Candlestick and to the rhythm of the drums.
