The tireless journalist and writer from Sassari Vindex Lecis will introduce the public to "L'Alternos", his gripping historical novel in which the atmosphere of the Sardinian anti-feudal revolution of the late eighteenth century relives, chapter after chapter, in the story of the events and of the personalities that characterized it.

The French assault, the expulsion of the Piedmontese, the anti-feudal uprisings in the villas, the siege of Sassari, the triumph and defeat of Angioy represent just some of the episodes narrated in the book.

“The Alternos” takes its title from the position assigned to the man who was the symbol of the revolutionary movements: Giovanni Maria Angioy, the legendary judge of the Royal Audience who, together with characters such as Mundula, Cillocco, Obino, Muroni and others, became the most tenacious opponent of injustices and feudal oppression.

Among the protagonists of the novel there is the Bonese sans-culotte Antonio Arras, witness to the wave of rebellion that shakes the island from one end to the other and sees every layer of the population involved. While the young laborers of the countryside and villages are forced to give up the proceeds of their work to the merciless feudal lords, the bourgeoisie of Cagliari asks that the Sardinians take part in public offices and the Logudorian printzipales side with the workers for the abolition of a system inhuman.
