"Don't bring Russian operas to the stage". It is the diktat to the Ukrainian dancers of the Ministry of Culture of Kiev, which blows up some shows in Italy.

In particular, we are talking about the “Swan Lake” by the Russian composer Petr Ilyk Cajkovskij, scheduled last night at the Municipal Theater of Lonigo, in the Vicenza area.

The show was canceled by the Ukrainian dance troupe after the artists were contacted by the National Opera of Ukraine and the Kiev Ministry of Culture, which ordered them to stop. The benefit show, with collections to be donated to support the Ukrainian people, was replaced with "Giselle", another ballet.

Same thing in Ferrara, where the Ukrainian dancers on the evening of April 9 will not dance to the notes of the composer Tchaikovsky. Also here was the program "Swan Lake", replaced with "Ukraina Gran Gala Ballet".

"The Ukrainian government has recently imposed a ban on all its artists from interpreting works by Russian authors", explains the theater management, which says it does not agree with the decision because "Russian culture is a heritage of humanity and of Western culture in particular , it is not an emanation of the Russian government ”.

"Despite our divergence of views with the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture - it is specified -, in order not to expose the guest artists of our Theater to violations of the laws enacted in their country, we shared with the Ukrainian dancers the idea of a change of program ".
