The hearing for the CAS arbitration on the Clostebol case involving Jannik Sinner has been set for April 16 and 17. The Court of Arbitration for Sport itself announced this, specifying that the proceedings will be held behind closed doors.

The CAS judges are called to decide on the appeal presented by WADA against the acquittal of the Italian tennis player number 1 in the world decided by the International Tennis Integrity Agency for testing positive for clostebol .

"Neither party has requested a public hearing, which will be conducted behind closed doors in Lausanne at the CAS headquarters," the note states.

Sinner tested positive last March for an infinitesimal amount of clostebol: he was contaminated, according to a reconstruction also accepted by Wada, by his physiotherapist who, before massaging him, had used a medicine containing the prohibited substance to treat a cut on his finger . Wada, while accepting the reconstruction provided and proven by Sinner, believes that there is still responsibility on the part of the Italian athlete . Hence the appeal, the world number 1 risks up to two years of suspension.

The date chosen for the hearing will certainly allow him to defend, in addition to the title at the Australian Open which starts on Sunday, also the ones he won last year in Rotterdam and Miami, as well as the semi-finals in Indian Wells and Monte Carlo.
