Forza Italia is pushing ahead with the Ius Schoae, or granting citizenship to foreigners upon completion of a course of study, despite the issue having been repeatedly “rejected” over the summer by its allies in the centre-right majority.

The leader of the Blue Party Antonio Tajani has in fact transmitted the input to the group leaders of the Chamber and Senate to begin working on an organic proposal on the ius scholae that should be completed by the end of the month. This was announced by authoritative sources of FI.

From what we understand, the proposal will then be presented to the allies for an internal discussion within the coalition.

Asked about the statements of some exponents of FdI and Lega according to which the Ius scholae was only «a summer theme» as well as a «divisive» issue and «not present in the program», the same sources from Forza Italia: «It is a theme that needs to be addressed as soon as possible».
