The man who on the evening of December 31 stabbed a 24-year-old girl , an Israeli citizen at Termini station in Rome, has been identified and arrested .

It is a 25-year -old boy of Polish origin , Aleksander Mateusz Chomiak.

The young man, homeless, was wanted on charges of attempted murder and was identified thanks to video surveillance cameras.

The 24-year-old was buying a ticket to go to Fiumicino when she was attacked from behind and stabbed.
