Nazif Muslija, the 50-year-old Macedonian man accused of the femicide of his wife, Sadjide Muslija— who was found dead yesterday at her home in the Ancona area —was found by the Carabinieri lying on the ground, seriously injured but alive, in a remote area of the Matelica (Macerata) territory.
The man had been wanted since yesterday for aggravated voluntary homicide.
The 118 paramedics who arrived stabilized him. His car, a white Smart, was found abandoned near the scene of the discovery.
Meanwhile , a construction pipe found outside the victim's home has been identified as the possible weapon used to fatally stab the woman . Carabinieri from the Forensic Investigations Unit found and seized it. It will be analyzed to determine whether the woman's injuries, which included a blow to the head and chest, are consistent with the pipe and whether her husband's fingerprints are present.
The Prosecutor's Office will order an autopsy on the woman's body. Initial examinations, conducted on-site by coroner Angelo Montana, revealed multiple blows to the skull and body of the woman, who was found on the bed. The fatal attack apparently occurred in the morning, although the approximate time of death will be determined by the autopsy. The iron pipe, which reportedly showed traces of blood, was leaning against an exterior wall of the home: it is a hollow pipe, similar to those used for scaffolding on construction sites.
Sadjide Muslija had been attacked several times over the past year by her husband, who had reported the incident after he had smashed down their bedroom door with an axe one evening, accusing her of an alleged betrayal.
