Manslaughter is being investigated for the death of the psychologist Vera Slepoj, who was found dead on 21 June due to an illness in her home in Padua.
The Corriere del Veneto website writes it.
The judiciary opened the case - without suspects - after the presentation of a complaint by the family of Slepoj, who turned 70 last month. Recently, according to what was written by his family, he declared that he felt healthy. The autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow, after which the prosecutor's office will be able to give the go-ahead for the funeral.
A popularizer, also known to the public for having frequently participated in television programmes, Slepoj was born in Portogruaro (Padua) and wrote 11 books (including Understanding feelings, The psychology of love, The wounds of women, The wounds of men ) and held columns in newspapers and periodicals, a long-time editorialist for the Gazzettino, often a guest at science and literary festivals such as A mountain of books in Cortina of which she was honorary president.
The focus of her work - she graduated in Psychology in Padua with a thesis on Deviance and control mechanisms in a current society, later specializing in psychotherapy - has become, over the course of her career, above all the field of feelings, the reading of the profound , couple relationships and finally the need for mental well-being .
As president of the Italian Federation of Psychology in the 2000s she intervened on many news events from the Novi Ligure massacre to the murder of Sarah Scazzi. Last April 3rd she was called by the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano to be part of the renewed Superior Council of Cinema and Audiovisual.
