They risked losing the plane from Linate to return to Sardinia, in Alghero , because the wave of bad weather that hit Lombardy knocked down two trees that fell on the road blocking the carriageway.

But as good Sardinians they did not give up, they took to the street and moved the two trees - both very large - managing to free at least one lane, to resume the journey and to reach the Milanese airport in time.

The group was returning by bus from Villafranca di Verona , where the children of Nettuno Calcio - chicks and rookies teams - took part in a tournament.

They were in the Brescia area when the two trees felled by a whirlwind faced each other. To move them, one was more than 15 meters long , the men moved, leaving women and children in the car.

A misadventure with a happy ending and a lesson for true Sardinians, never give up.
